What a Worship Gathering looks like @ The Southgate

Upon arrival, our guests are warmly welcomed in the parking lot, outside the doors and inside the Worship Center.  There are directional signs and banners inside and out.  We will not just point to where the various ministries are but offer an escort as well.  Our goal is to create a casual, relaxed atmosphere with a Cafe' serving coffee, juices and pastries.

The worship gatherings are well planned with our guests in mind.  We have a band that uses an alternative rock style of music supported with multi-media presentation.  We use audio, video and drama to help to present the truths of the Bible in creative and relevant ways.  Our focus for teaching is to apply the power of scripture to the needs and challenges that we experience in the realities of our daily lives.  We believe that all teaching should be for changed lives.  All that we present in a worship setting is to be held to a high standard of excellence, not striving for perfection, but doing the very best with what God has made available to us.

We offer safe, clean environments for our children.  Our goal for our Children's Ministry is for Sunday to be their best day of the week.  Our nursery, preschool and elementary children's ministry uses video, music, games and small groups to help them to relate well to each other and grow in their ability to know God. 

Our goal is that our worship gatherings last 1 hour and 15 minutes (max), because longer isn't necessarily better, and we value your time.  We want the atmosphere to be inviting and engaging by using lighting and colors in such a way that they add to the worship experience.  Our pastors and leaders will speak from a lower platform with an informal, relaxed style that helps to make the experience more personal.
